Making the most...

Today I made the most of my one day off this week. My friend Angela came over and helped me finish my deck "couch" cushions and they look awesome! I canned a whole heap of okra and make a bucketload of delicious hummus. I also went to 5 places in search of the perfect workout shoes with no luck. Too bad. At least I got so much else accomplished. Now off to plant radishes and carrots and water the garden.

Chris and I drove to Santa Fe last week via Colorado. We met up with my parents, my sister, her husband and little girl for a week long Southwestern relaxation vacation. It was delightful and grand. And definitely didn't last long enough. Here are a few snapshots...

Bishop's Crazy Castle

Chris and I just got back from a wonderful week long trip to the Southwest. We drove, and on the way there we stopped at Bishop's Castle in Colorado in the San Isabel National Forest. I used to come here in college on crazy road trips with friends. It was good to be back in these mountains and to show Chris around. Bishop's Castle is truly a sight to see. Jim Bishop has been building this castle by hand, by himself and has been working on it for over 40 years! You can climb all over it, it's wild!
